So Long to 2006...

Let's see if I can think that far back...

January - My sister turned 23.

February - Still trying to remember...

March - My friends had a huge baby shower. There were easily over 100 peoples there. I went to FishFest for the first time (so many stairs!) with MC, Joanne, Joanna, and Jourdan. Later that week I went to a Black Eyed Peas concert featuring the Pussycat Dolls with MC and her random friend Lucky. My mom turned ??.

April - My brother turned 17 (gulp). I saw my cousin in vegas who turned 21 (double-gulp). I hadn't seen him since he was starting high school. Went to my other cousin's wedding in Las Vegas at the Bellagio. My parents had went ahead and saw my Auntie and Uncle's house there and decided they wanted to look for a house there for possible retirement. My brother, sister, and I left Sunday morning and by the time we got home, not only did my parents look at a few houses, but they bought one.

May - My Orthodontist told me that the progress on my teeth was great and that I only had about a year to go. Yay! My sister started working with me at H&A. We even sit next to each other.

June - There was a falling out between my mom and one of the other members for the church we were attending. By Father's Day is blew up into this whole ordeal with pastors and random church leaders/elders calling us and coming to our house. By the end of the month we had left that church. It broke my heart.

July - I spent the 4th of July at the Vegas House. I saw Ringo. My dad and I were followed by some creepy guy in WalMart. I turned 26 and for my birthday my family took me to Ruth's Chris. I got a LV bag. My friends took me to have Thai on PCH. yummy! My dad turned ??.

August - Max turned 1. Yay!

September - USC Football season started. I went to a retreat with the Foundry with MC and Joanne. My department had field review in Buena Park for the day. MC's nephew turned 2 and we played in the bounce house. Olivia had her wedding shower in Vegas. I saw Phantom at the Venetian.

October - I went to the USC v Washington Game and the USC v Arizona Game. My mom fell in the parking lot at work and her shoulder got dislocated. After hours and hours of pain, tons of drugs, and several tries, they put her to sleep to pop the arm back into the socket. She hasn't been back to work since. Also since it happened during her lunch break (she was on her way back into the hospital) she is not eligible for workman comp. My cousins from the Philippines came by to go to Disneyland. At the end of the month I saw Chris Tomlin in concert with MC and Joanne.

November - Olivia and Ray got hitched. Yay! I went to the USC v Cal Game. My uncle had surgery and spent his recovery with us. My mom's cousin flew in from the Philippines and we spent Thanksgiving together.

December - USC lost to UCLA...::sigh::...Harris Holiday Party, Group Holiday Lunch, Spent Christmas in Vegas...etc..

Happy Face!

My iPod was at my desk when I got to work this morning. Whoopi!

Also, after a LONG day at work, I have officially started my weekend. I have tomorrow off and I am still debating on if I want to go to Vegas this weekend.

sad face...

My iPod shuffle wasn't in my purse when I got home today. I hope I left it at work. I hope that if I did leave it at work, that it doesn't get jacked.

Damn it. I was just saying how small it is and that I hope I don't lose it or forget its in my pocket and accidently wash it.

I really hope it's sitting on my desk under some papers. That was the last time I saw it...

::sigh::

Merry Christmas!

Okay, so I am a day late...I would have blogged sooner, but I spent the weekend at my parents Vegas House...and well...there was NO INTERNET! Ahhh! So here goes my recap of the Holiday Weekend.

Monday (12/18) - This was just another Manic Monday...

Tuesday - I had my review. It went really well, except my boss told me that I talk to much and was told to keep it to a minimum. I've worked there for 3 1/2 years and not once was this on my review (my boss seemed shocked that she would have to tell me) It wasn't put on my offical review, but I was told to reel it in a bit, especially since a lot of the work I do requires a lot of detail and my boss does not want my concentration broken. Speaking of concentration, I did get the final draft of a report I had been working on completed and PDF'ed for our client. I even was able to print the final copy and have it signed for making copies and binding the following day.

Wednesday - This was my last day of the work week before vacation...and man, father time hates me. I had a HUGE report that needed to go out. The body of the report was pretty much done, signed, and printed. We were just finishing printing out the appendices (several reams of 11"x17" sheets folded) when the developer (not our client) informs us of a little mistake in our report and wants us to fix it ASAP so that they can get their money before the end of the year. Of course when this whole thing was blowing up in my face, my boss was out of the office for meetings (yay me). I had to deal with the cranky Developer (not our client) and "listen" to them, through email, whine to the City (our client) about the whole thing. Anyways, it was looking like I would have to redo portions of the report and possibly reprint the annoying appendices to account for the changes. I planned on staying late to at least get the draft done, I figured my boss and my intern could handle the binding. Unfortunately, the Developer didn't email me the stuff I needed until after 7 (I was in Ikea doing a little shopping).

Thursday - Vacation Day - NOT- Because the developer didn't get back to us until late, I decided to come into work in the morning to get things squared away. I worked for about 2 hours. My boss told me to just go because the Developer was being a stupid bitch (she said it not me!). Have I mentioned that the Developer is not our client?

So I went shopping. Later that evening Christine picked me up and we drove to Carson to have Alias Nite at Olivia and Ray's place. We took a tour. Its cute. They are so grown up and they have a Will&Grace couch. I'm jealous. The Mrs. made us Chicken and Rice. It was yummy, I tried really hard not to eat with a spoon a fork (filipino style). I almost did it too until I got seconds. After dinner (and a few episodes of the Cosby Show) we watched Alias. Christine and I were each sitting in a recliner and Olivia was parked in the Will&Grace couch. Olivia fell asleep somewhere towards the end of the first episode and I started to does a little too. I was testing the recliner and it locked in the recline position. It took forever and a lot of giggling from me and Christine to get the chair back to normal...hee hee.

Friday - I slept in. Around 10:30 my brother, my cousin, and his half-brother left for Vegas. We made good time and got there around 3. We dropped off my cousins and my brother and I took the long way to my parents home in North Las Vegas. We went to the bank and it was freezing. Then we went to Arby's where I hit the retarted ramp thinging in the drive through and left a scratch...er..dent about an 2 inches long, 1 inch wide near the back left tire...arrgh.

Saturday - I used the oven for the first time to make bacon. (we dont have a good frying pan yet). My parents, sister, and uncle arrived. We went to Costco and bought lots of food. I drank a beer with the pizza we bought at Costco.

Sunday - We ate some yummy Japanese food for lunch. I tried tempura ice cream. It was delicious a lot like fried ice cream. My sister, brother, and I went shopping. We cooked up a nice meal and watched the Hawaii vs. ASU game. I drank another beer. After dinner we opened presents and I took lots of pics too. I got my iPod shuffle and an LV wallet and the final season of I Love Lucy.

Monday (12/25) - We totally over slept. My brother and I took our time leaving and didn't hit the road until 2:30 pm. There was so much traffic. We didn't get home until after 9 pm. I definitely think its worth waking up and leaving at the butt-crack of dawn.

All in all it was a pretty relaxing time in Vegas. And I actually drank 2 beers. Granted it was on separate days and it was lite beer..but still...that's a lot for me. heh heh.

Ring-a-ding

Back in November I lost my ring over in my parents Vegas house. I thought it might be somewhere inside the house, but that it probably flew somewhere random and I would never find it again. Well I was wrong!

My Mom, Dad, and Uncle were over at the Vegas house this past weekend and they found my ring! My Dad had accidently kicked it in the driveway and my Uncle saw it and showed it to my Mom who confirmed that it was indeedy-do my ring. IT WAS IN THE DRIVEWAY!

The ring is a little loose. I bought it when I turned 25 as a promise ring to myself. Its a silver mesh ring from Tiffany's with heart on it. They don't have half sizes, and the 7 was too tight on my ring finger and the 8 too big. I bought a size 8 and it fit perfectly on my middle finger. Since then I have lost some weight and the ring is now loose. Because it's loose, I don't always notice that it has slipped off. Since the ring is mesh I can't have it size. I still can't believe that they found my ring!

I found my shoes!

On Friday was my company holiday party at the Pacific Club in Newport Beach. The attire was semi-formal, so I decided to wear the wine colored dress that I wore to Olivia's wedding. My sister wore the same thing she wore to the wedding too. The food was good. They served both Chicken and Steak with a mound of mashed potatoes separating the two. I'm tellin ya, I have eatten too much steak this past week. I think I am red-meat out.

They gave away a few door prizes (an iPod shuffle, an iPod Nano, and a Roomba), which I did not win. Then came time for the big prize, the Trip for Two to Hawaii. I didn't win that either. Nope it was supposedly a random drawing. My "date" Valarie won. I call her my "date" because I pretty much had to ask her to go with me so that I wouldn't be a third wheel with my sister and her boyfriend, or my bosses. She's only been to one other holiday party in the 8 years she has work at H&A and the one that I make her go to she wins! Everyone at the table was totally shocked. I even dropped my dessert fork loudly on my plate because I was sooo shocked. Yep she won and I can't believe it still. Hee hee..the catch is, though, she now HAS to attend next year's holiday party because the winner of the previous year has to draw the name of next winner. I'm going to make her choose my name!

I didn't even win the centerpiece. I always win the centerpiece! ARRRGHH! Ana won the centerpiece. Both Ana and Mike also were given special recognition awards...they both totally deserved them. YAY!

Oh yeah. So, since friday I have been looking for the shoes I wore to the party. I found the empty box and looked high and low for my patent leather mary janes. They were no where to be found until just this moment when I tried to push my chair under my desk. There they were wedged neatly under the inside of my desk. How did they get there??

Whats going on with my eyes?

It's been forever and a day since the break-up and I felt oh so over it a long while back. I was taken by surprise at my reaction when I was asked how long my last relationship was and how long ago it ended. I actually felt my tear ducts produce tears and my eyes probably would have completely welled up and I would have shed few tears had I not been wearing contacts (the heat was on in the building and so they were a little dry).

It was just for a moment, but it was long enough for me to think...umm, what is going on with my eyes and why am I reacting this way? And then I got mad, not at him, but at me. I was getting upset because I had a totally involuntary reaction that in no way reflects how I was feeling about him. These tears were coming from no where. My heart wasn't hurting and no emotions or memories were suddenly evoked from the question. My eyes were on their own and were having their own spaz attack or something. That split second reaction upset me and when I am upset I want to cry. I was worried that it would make me look like I am not over it. That was making me more upset and the urge to cry was getting stronger. I didn't want to say anything else because it was getting more and more difficult to keep from crying. The harder it got, the more upset I was getting, and it was just becoming a vicious cycle. I looked ridiculous nodding "yes" when asked "Aren't you over it?" because I didn't look like I was.

I didn't cry. Actually, I should say that I didn't cry until I got into my car. I let my eyes completely well up and then I was done. I think my eyes just having caught up with my mind or heart yet. Or maybe its PMS.

Social Butterfly I am

Phew...its only Monday and I have a week of craziness ahead of me. Today we took our newest Project Analyst out to lunch at my boss-lady's favorite restaurant. (she goes to Avila's several at least 3 times a week, she has her favorite waitress and whenever we go, she just walks in a sits down and Kathy brings her an iced tea)

I ended up staying close to an hour overtime to get some work done for my boss for her meeting tomorrow morning. I also collected money for the gift card we are going to give our office manager tomorrow for her surprise baby shower. Initially I had thought that we were going to give $5-$10 each (there are 7 of us contributing). One of the girls kept asking how much we were going to give, and when I suggested $10, she turned it around to giving about $25 each since that's how much we would each have spent if we were buying gifts ourselves. I guess my sister and I had strange looks on our faces and one of the other girls chimed in with "or whatever you can". The girl who suggested $25 ended up giving me $35 and the one who chimed in with "whatever you can" gave $25. One of the our other co-workers thought $25 was a lot, so she gave $15, and so when I was going around asking people if they wanted to contribute..they asked how much and I ended up giving a range of $15 to $35. So, by the time I got everyone's money, I had $115 (excluding me and my sister). We ended up getting a$150 gift card. My sister and I felt compelled to put in the remaining $35. Is it just me or is $150 from 7 people a lot? We are only spending up the $20 on our Secret Santa gifts for our own group...where did this $25-$35 thing come from? I don't know. I didn't want to say anything because I didn't want to look like a total cheapsake..but then it turned out that a couple of other people felt the same way. I feel kinda bad about complaining about it right now...

When my sister and I got home from work, we ate a quick dinner and made the pasta salad that we are going to take tomorrow for the pot luck baby shower. Then we went to the Spectrum to pick up a gift card at Target for the office manager, a gift card at Barnes & Noble for my Secret Santa Gift, and I also bought my sister her x-mas gift.

On Thursday we are going to have our Secret Santa gift exchange. We are also going to Ruth's Chris for our department holiday lunch. yummmmmiee. I can't wait. I went there once and it was D to the E to the LICIOUS.

On Friday we are going to take one of the Admin girls out to lunch for her birthday. Then Friday night is the company Holiday Party. Rumor has it that one of the door prizes is a roomba. I wanna roomba. Although, I would like to win one of the Hawaii Trips...Aloha!

Huh?

When did it become December? November flew by, and so much happened!

Olivia is now a Mrs. and Christine is on her way to being a Mrs....and me? Well I am closer to being a Ma'am than I am a Mrs. at this point...but I will settle for Ms. if I am no longer eligible to be a Miss.

The Homecoming Game sounded like a good game, but I was at Olivia's wedding. My brother and my dad used the tickets. Apparently the young couple that were in the seats next to them got into a fight and so the guy (USC Alum) left to go get food and walk away from the fight for a little bit. His girlfriend waited, and waited, and finally got up and left (she said goodbye to my dad and brother). Then the boyfriend came back and watched the remainder of the game...My dad and brother did not pay attention to what they were fighting about, but it was a pretty heated arguement.

My intern has started...yes MY intern. I actually have a mini staff person that I am sort of responsible for. I like him, he's quirkey.

Work is continuing to be a pain in the puh-too-tee. My workload seems to be ramping up while everyone elses seems to be waining...But its cool, I have an intern now! =)

My koosh was stolen and then I found it. It was then promply stolen again and then "given" back to me. I have been hiding it so as to not have it stolen again.

I was able to convince my co-worker to go to the company holiday party this year. She almost never goes to any of these things. I think she has only been to one in the 7 or so years she has been working for the company. I told her that my sister is going with her boyfriend and me with no one and that I would be the 3rd wheel, so she better go so that I have someone to talk to while they are all boyfriend and girlfriend-ing it up at the party.

The USC vs. Cal game was a good game. My dad asked me before I left to see if the young couple had made up (see Homecoming Game above). When Christine and I got there, there was an older gentleman and a woman in their seat. The older gentleman turned out to be the guy's dad and he told us that his son and his wife were at a wedding and then the next weekend would be in Hawaii celebrating their aniversary. So I guess the couple made up afterall.

I went to Vegas for one night. I hurt my neck and lost my ring. Don't ask.

I lost .4 lbs in the past month. So sad. At least I did not gain.
