Yesterday was the 31st Birthday. I was uneventful to say the least...nothing out much out of the ordinary happened yesterday...in fact there were people who didn't even change out of the pajamas the whole day (which is a sure sign that they were not taking me out on my birthday). No worries...my super wonderful boyfriend is taking me out this weekend to celebrate. He makes me so happy :)
Last year I put together a list of 30 things I wanted to do before my 31st Birthday. Um.. yeah. I did horribly. Not only did I not do most of the things on the list, the things that I actually managed to do went undocumented. As much as I love structure and lists, the birthday list just didn't work out for me this past year. This year I decided to change it up a bit and give myself a little bit more freedom. Instead of a specific "to do" type list, I will instead have categories and hopefully by the time I turn 32 (gulp), I will have completed 31 new things.
The 31 List
#1 Follow this mantra: Let go. Be free. Step OUTSIDE the bubble. and for pete's sake stop with the poopy face and smile!
Complete 5 creative projects...I haven't been keeping up with my crafting. It's quite sad. I have all these supplies an very little of them have been used. I want to get creative and get messy.
Recycle/Reuse/Repurpose 5 things...I have a lot of junk. Stuff I don't really need, or things that could be of better use as something else.
Cook 5 dishes from scratch...I am a semi-homemade cook. I can make the best soup using premade stuff from cans and bags. Instead of preparing food, I want to actually COOK food more.
Eat at 5 new restaurants...I live in Southern California where you can fine cuisine from all over the world. Time to step outside of my norms and try some new food at new restaurants.
Do 5 things I've never done before...I really haven't experienced much in my 31 years. Its kind of sad. This should be easy provided that I don't chicken out. Somehow I don't think the bf will let me. Which is good for me. :)
Visit 5 places I've never visited before...I am quite comfortable in my little 10 mile radius bubble. I need to get out more and explore outside of that bubble. Seriously.
And there are my 31 things. I hope I'm better at keeping up with it than the 30 list. :) Happy Birthday. Its a new year!!!
