"The John Legend Sigh"

Friday was the John Legend Concert at the Lake Las Vegas Resort in Henderson, NV. I had been waiting and waiting the past month or so to see him. He's so...well...John Legend! *sigh*

It was a great concert and I enjoyed in immensely. I even started liking some of the songs from the first album that I normally skip, b/c *ahem* the subject matter. He could sing anything and I would love it. He could sing a page out of an encyclopedia or a freakin take out menu and I would love it!

He may have been a tiny blip on the stage, but it was one sexy sounding blip. mmm-hmm!

*sigh* Here is what I saw from afar...How can you not sigh?

"Hi, I'm unavailable."

Have I mentioned how much I am hating my phone right now? I have a Sidekick II. While it's nice to have a phone with a full qwerty keyboard, a camera, AIM and Yahoo!Messenger, and the Sidekick Plan Add-On (Unlimited Internet and text messaging), it's not so nice when you can't actually USE the features. So much for being available.

It started in the beginning of the year. I downloaded a new update to my phone and all of a sudden my AIM would start up on its own, which was fine..except for the fact that I had been spending the last half of the year trying NOT to be so tied to my phone, especially with the IMing. I could do this, not be so OCD about the phone right? wrong! I quickly fell into my old ways with the late night IMing and the checking for messages every 5 minutes...

Then in March, calls dropping, reception became crappy, and my Internet would just stop working all together. Of course I would appear to be signed on AIM to the rest of the world, I just wouldn't get IMs until the Internet came back up. Then I would be inundated with IMs.

When April came round the problems progressed to not letting make outgoing calls, incoming calls being sent directly to voice mail, and delayed or lost text messages. Oh and lets not forget the AIM blitzing out and signing me on, then signing me off, then signing me on. This was also around the time my brother got a virus on his Sidekick..how the hell do you get a phone virus?!

It's now May and my phone service seems be back on track. AIM no longer does the crazy signing on and off, I'm receiving and sending my text messages just fine, reception is back to normal, and the Internet is working. The only problem seems to be the phone itself. It no longer vibrates. I know it can, it just won't when I receive a call, text, or email...also the ear piece no longer lights up. Again, I know it can because it does when I verify the settings, but it doesn't actually do it when it's supposed to.

I really want a new phone. I really want to get the Blackberry 8700, but I know what's going to happen. Blackberry + Me = Crackberry..

Yay? NAY.

This was one LOOOONG ass week. Monday started out okay, until my sister and I got to work to find that the power had gone out at around 7 am. So no power, no computer, no work..yay? NAY. We were told to stay and wait it out until the bosses could decide what to do next...in the mean time the power came back on and another submittal from a client came it.

Tuesday I was supposed to get my braces off. I get there a little early and they seat me right away with the catalog to pick out my retainer...yay? NAY. The Orthodontist looked at my teeth, saw that there was movement and spacing, and strongly suggested that I keep them on for another two weeks...four to be safe. I went with the two weeks.

Wednesday was one of them weird days, where my phone and email was going crazy. I managed to get a draft report out to a client...yay? NAY. This client drove me up the wall with her constant comments to each draft of the report. Most of it was her not knowing if she wanted to say "prior to 1997" or "in 1996". AHHHH! C'mon Lady!

Thursday was like Wednesday. WHY!?

Today was better. Less stressful, more laid back.

Mrs. Blah Blah Insert Name Here

On a recent outing with the girls, I was informed that I have 5 years to get married so that I will be eligible to attend O's "Wear Your Wedding Dress" Party. That's right, a party where everyone shows up in their wedding dresses. 5 years. I will be 31. I would like to think that 5 years is plenty of time, but its already May and I still have to pause and think before writing 2007 when dating things.

So. If I am not married in 5 years (gulp), then I told Xtine that I will rent a super fugly wedding dress that makes me look like a big ol' cupcake and just show up at the party. That's when Xtine reminded me that I have a wedding dress from my debut. I do believe the dress is hanging somewhere in my Mom's closet. hehehehe. Unfortunately, I was 18, a size 8/10, and I still hadn't grown boobies yet.

hmm..maybe I would have better luck at losing the weight and getting a boob reduction in 5 years than I would at finding a husband.
